In this week's selection of films and shows on Amazon Prime, check out the story of a young woman looking to escape her life by traveling across the country with a group of young strangers in American Honey. Check in with Rob and Sharon and their continuing struggles of family, parenthood, and professional life in the third season of Catastrophe. Finally, a young man joins his wild and exciting extended family in California only to discover their criminal nature in the first season of Animal Kingdom.
- American Honey - A young woman, escapes her life with a group of young strangers that travel around the country selling magazine subscriptions. Together, the group sees what America has to offer while getting to know one another.
- Catastrophe - Season 3 - Rob and Sharon are back in the latest season of Catastrophe. This season, the couple has to deal with unemployment, crazy family, terrible coworkers, and the continuing odyssey that is parenthood.
- Animal Kingdom - Season 1 - A young man, J Cody, moves to Southern California to live with the hard-partying side of his family. Unbeknownst to him, however, is the fact that all of them are criminals. The question becomes whether or not he can join them in their dangerous, yet exciting, lifestyle.
Looking ahead
Coming later in the week, a number of new items will make their way to Amazon Prime, starting with Denial, which tells the story of one woman's fight to have the truth of the Holocaust acknowledged in a court of law. A man goes on a road trip to Oregon with his father-in-law after the latter announces that he wants to be euthanized in Youth in Oregon. Finally, watch the story of The Man with No Name as he tries to play to gangs against each other in A Fistful of Dollars.
- Denial - This film tells the story of Deborah Lipstadt, who fights against a notorious Holocaust denier in order to have the ugly historical truth of the Holocaust acknowledged in a court of law. Arrives May 3. - See at Amazon
- Youth in Oregon - When Brian's 80-year-old father-in-law Raymond announces his intent be legally euthanized in Oregon, Brian is tasked with driving him across the country. As they journey, Brian and his family hope that Raymond will once again discover something worth living for. Arrives May 4. - See at Amazon
- A Fistful of Dollars - A wandering gunman enters a town controlled by two rival gangs, and, using a Mexican shipment of gold, plans to play the gangs against each other in order to turn a profit. But as he tries to put his plan into motion, his sympathies for the gangs' victims cause him to put himself on the line. May 4. - See at Amazon
