Amazon is continuously adding new movies and TV shows to its Prime video streaming service, and each week, we'll bring you the best it has to offer!

In this week's selection of films and shows on Amazon Prime, a talented chef leaves his job at a high-end restaurant in order to start a food truck that he then drives across the country. A show based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's final novel centers around a fight over the future of a studio in Depression-era Hollywood. Finally, a psychologist and his wife move to his family's estate in the country in Victorian-era Britain, where they encounter supernatural events.

  • Chef - A talented chef, Carl, quits his job at a top restaurant when the own continues to insist that he only make classic dishes, refusing to let Carl do anything innovative. Looking to rediscover his passion for cooking, Carl starts a food truck that explodes in popularity, which he drives it cross-country from Miami to LA.
  • The Last Tycoon - Season 1 - This new Amazon original series is based on the final, unfinished, and posthumously-published novel of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Taking place in 1936, the series follows film producer Monroe Stahr as he fights his boss over the future of their movie studio in depression-era Hollywood.
  • The Living and the Dead - Season 1 - In this Victorian-era supernatural horror drama, an innovative psychologist is left his family's estate in the country, where he moves with his family and encounters supernatural events.

Looking ahead

This week's first addition to Amazon Prime's video lineup is All Dogs Go to Heaven, in which a murdered dog escapes from Heaven in order to spend more time on Earth. In Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, to friends travel through time in order to prepare for an upcoming history exam. Finally, in Saw, two men find themselves trapped in a deadly situation from which they can only escape by getting around an increasingly dangerous set of traps.

  • All Dogs Go to Heaven - In this animated musical, German Shepherd Charlie B. Barkin declines staying in Heaven in order to return to Earth and reunite with his best friend. The two team up to rescue an orphan who is being held prisoner by Charlie's murderer and former business partner, Carface. Arrives August 1.
  • Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure - In order to get some help studying for an upcoming history exam, totally excellent dudes Bill and Ted travel across history itself in a time traveling phone booth, meating the likes of Socrates, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, and Joan of Arc. Arrives August 1.
  • Saw - Two men are kidnapped by the Jigsaw killer and must go to extreme and gruesome lengths in order to survive, confronting a series of increasingly demanding, dangerous, and intricate traps that they'll only get through if they truly have the will to live. Arrives August 1.
