Get a closer look at how select backward compatible titles will be improved on the Xbox One X – starting with 2007's Halo 3.
Microsoft recently announced that four Xbox 360 games will be seeing an upgrade next month, with the release of the Xbox One X. While updates for several existing Xbox One games have previously been announced, this latest unveiling has shown how select backward compatible titles can also leverage the additional resources.
So far, Microsoft has announced four "Xbox One X Enhanced" Xbox 360 titles – Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, Fallout 3, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Among the improvements expected for these titles are increased resolutions and additional color depth via HDR, alongside other changes on a per-game basis. While the Xbox One has previously delivered enhancements to Xbox 360 titles, these four games are receiving tailored updates specifically with Xbox One X in mind.
Taking to the Xbox YouTube channel, Microsoft has begun to showcase the graphical upgrades to expect from Xbox 360 games running on Xbox One X, with footage from Halo 3's multiplayer mode.
