Get the Samsung 860 EVO 1TB solid state drive for $250
Solid drive. Solid price.
The Samsung 860 EVO 1TB solid state drive is down to its lowest price yet at $249.99 on Amazon. This is the first time it has dropped this low on Amazon, where it usually sells for around $270. A couple days ago it dropped this low through a promo code on Newegg, but now you can get it at this price directly from them as well.
We've already outlined the major differences between the 860 lineup and the 850, so be sure to check that out. This is the first shift from the 850 EVO for Samsung in more than three years. Usually what happens is the 850 EVO gets the updates, such as changing the internals to allow for larger storage at a cheaper price. In order to keep up with competition, Samsung has had to upgrade the flash memory to the 64-layer 3D NAND. That's an upgrade from the 850's 48-layer 3D NAND, although that probably won't mean any big differences right away to you. Mostly you need to know these drives will be slightly faster and last a little bit longer, which is exactly what you should expect from a new generation.
